Limited Availability Whilst Moulds Last
A short run of the very fist prototype 3-Up, which someone told me got slightly altered and used by another company to make their own skeleton plastic sprues. That's the miniatures industry for you.
The moulds stil have some life in them, so take this opportunity to get a copy of the very first Skeleton 3-Up whilst they last!
PLease note that you can choose the original heads, or if you prefer you can opt for some random modern skulls. I've been working on the skeletons for a very long time and have become much better at doing the skulls, but the originals do have that certain charm
The model now comes with a small flagstone base instead of the round plinth pictured.
Original Information from when it was first released:
Note from Andy Foster- One of the projects that I must now start to admit may never see the light of day is my plastic skeletons, that got sidetracked in 2010 by a dragon and were never finished. I'd need to take two months off just to sit down and work through them and get them ready for the complicated plastic injection process, and have to raise around £50,000 on Kickstarter just to do one decent-sized sprue of half a dozen or so skeletons with various options. Scary amounts of money involved in the plastic process!
Rather than let them sit in a drawer for ever more, I am releasing a limited series of 'assembled' versions of the components that I have finished so far, beginning with this Skeleton Warrior armed with a sword or axe (you get both, to choose)
Be aware that this is a sculpt specifically designed to overcome obstacles you face in plastic tooling, namely zero undercuts of any kind, and limits on tiny details that look huge on the 3-up, for example, the teeth - you have to do them stepped and much larger than you would in a bigger scale! Every bone has to be more or less accurate, but also reduced in complexity so that it looks right but also casts correctly and is strong enough so that it won't snap taking it off the plastic frame when you tried to assemble your models. And you have to sculpt it at 3 times the actual size - easy on a computer, definitely trickier to do by hand, like this was done. Not only that, but you have to make it modular, with as much interchangeability and posability as you can think of. I think i did well!
If this kit proves popular, I will make the next one available with spear options! (Which I have to finish first). This version of the kit comes with the choice of sword or axe and a choice of 3 versions of a skull that I have played with over the years, along with a large resin plinth-style base. The model is 90mm tall to the top of the head, (which would make it 30mm tall had it been produced as an injection plastic model).
Please order immediately to avoid disappointment as this model may not return to the store for several months or more once it has sold out. Check the amount in stock if visible.
Multi-part polyurethane resin kit supplied unpainted and unassembled. You do not have the right to reproduce this model. You are purchasing this for private enjoyment only, it may not be used for commercial purposes without a license.
